Wisconsin Annual Report Deadlines: Which Quarter Is Yours? (2026)
Wisconsin doesn't give every business the same annual report deadline. Instead, your due date is the end of the calendar quarter containing your formation anniversary — one of four dates: March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31.
Find your quarter in ten seconds
- Formed January–March → due March 31
- Formed April–June → due June 30
- Formed July–September → due September 30
- Formed October–December → due December 31
"Formed" means the date your entity was originally registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions — it's on your formation certificate, or you can look your company up in the DFI registry.
The exception: out-of-state entities
The quarter rule only applies to domestic Wisconsin entities. If your company was formed in another state and registered in Wisconsin as a foreign entity, your annual report is due March 31 every year, no matter when you qualified.
Does Wisconsin remind me?
Yes — DFI emails a reminder during the quarter before yours is due. But the reminder goes to the address on file, and stale contact information is the single most common reason businesses miss it. If you've changed emails since you formed the company, update your record.
If you miss your quarter
A delinquent Wisconsin entity loses good standing and can eventually be administratively dissolved — see our guide to administrative dissolution and how to fix it. Filing on time is dramatically cheaper. We can take the deadline off your plate entirely: Wisconsin Annual Report Filing.
